The DirectorofBluegem, Bruno Cozzi, recently gave a presentation at the 2011 National VET (Vocational Education and Training) Conference in Brisbane, Queensland.
The conference focused on ‘Quality in VET’ by exploring the key themes of Policy and Sustainable Business Practices and Teaching, Learning and Innovation.
Bluegem’s Training Management System, BluegemEXPLORE, was a Gold Sponsor of the conference which provided Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) with the opportunity to discover efficient and effective ways of improving their Training Management Systems.
“Over the course of the two day conference, RTO/VET training managers and providers, VET consultants, teachers, assessors and CEOs learned how to increase administrative efficiency, while streamlining the delivery of skills and competency based training with the experts from the Bluegem team,” said Bruno.
“Bluegem offered free demonstrations and information on their compliant web-based Training Management Systems for Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and Australian Vocational Education Training Management Information Statistical Standard (AVETMISS).
“Just like any other business, RTOs are finding the digital agea complex period of contrast, contradiction, and opportunity.
“On the one hand you’re being asked to use less paper and adjust your carbon footprint. On the other, you’re being asked to submit more surveys and reports. You constantly have to adapt programs, people and resources to an ever changing landscape of qualifications, competencies, and certificates.
“The next layer of complexity is the technical revolution. If meeting the challenges of your RTO were not enough of a headache, you also need to continuously educate and re-educate yourself on industry websites, electronic submission systems, information sources, communications technology.
“And as if all this were not enough you are still first and foremost a ‘business’ that needs to employ and pay people, market your products and services, manage financials, and make a profit.”
Bruno added that every technical revolution brought both challenge and opportunity. Technology such as this has also allowed us to adapt to change our businesses and industry more efficiently.
“The web makes it possible to communicate with stakeholders efficiently and cost effectively. It gives you access to services that don’t require a second mortgage, that you don’t need to own or maintain, and that serve you reliably 24 hours a day – every day – wherever you are.
“A well-designed training management system like BluegemEXPLORE addresses the challenges and helps you to take full advantage of the digital age.”
The conference was delivered through a range of interactive learning spaces, providing the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of plenary presentations, information sessions, new and provocative learning situations, guest panels and master classes.
