As a client of Bluegem I am delighted with the professionalism and customer service they have displayed with this project! However I also had experience with Bluegem on another big project which included TMS | LMS, customization and integration solutions; that project run smoothly and met all the required deadlines for the organization for a very large RTO delivering face to face, distance and online learning with over 30,000 enrolment across Australia a year.
I carry a unique background of having worked with three (3) different Learning Management Systems (LMS) over the past four to five years as an Online Training Administrator and Online Assessor. The experience gained from working on those systems left me with a qualified grasp so to speak, to be able to comment on what I have learnt. (I have stopped myself from saying ‘endured’!)
It is so important to have a very good communication path with the Technical Department of the LMS to follow up on issues which do and will arise. The support is needed to be prompt, easy to understand and respectful of the administrators urgent request. Many times it will be a student who is getting frustrated and you need to be able to get back to them promptly with a solution to help them get on their way with their training. With so many different computer systems, programs, varying degrees of security levels set, pop up blocker problems and believe me the list goes on and on - the LMS needs to have taken every aspect into account and be kept up to date on moving trends.
One particular LMS I worked on - I declared and named - ‘The Episode’ – whilst waiting for the system to decide to open up in certain sections I would be able to make coffee and go through the emails whilst the page downloaded. It would lose students on a regular basis and you would have to go through a complicated process to locate them to put them back into the mainstream of the online students. I could go on and on about the problems I encountered with The Episode. A very frustrating experience and I groan at the thought of them. The other two LMS’s also had their issues and glitches that would annoy the administrators as well.
Unfortunately it is the student (your client) who is ultimately affected by the bad experience as well. These are such important things to consider.
So I volunteer to offer my testimonial of the professionalism Bluegem provides and the support that follows through. They know their stuff!
